the staff could not have been more helpful and accommodating to our needs. The rooms are delightful and extremely quiet even with a busy cafe below. Perfect for a weekend getaway by the sea and in the centre of the shops and cafes of mumbles.

The location of the hotel was great for us as it was close to the town, beach front and restaurants. Fabulous Welcome by staff member. Our Room was lovely though smaller than would expect for Executive room, very comfortable bed though not King Size as the room description would lead you to believe, queen I would say, lovely bathroom with a large deep bath and great shower. Very Clean and tastefully fitted out throughout.
Our only negative point about the hotel was the prices. For a Cafe bar in Swansea the prices were not what we would expect for example 2 drinks in the bar almost £10.00?

The owner/hosts were welcoming and fun. The food in the bar was delicious, a delightful step up from typical bar food, and it attracted a lively upscale crowd. An excellent full breakfast is included. The bed was large and incredibly comfortable! Included parking, and great location in the cute town. Comfortable, boutique feel.
Would not be good for someone who can not climb stairs.

The room was very modern and furnished very well.
For £120 for one night it was very expensive for the facilities available. Breakfast is a continental option, and although the croissants were delicious, the selection of breakfast items was very small and I would have expected the choice of cooked options bearing in mind the price of the room.

Our room was luxurious and comfortable with a large bathtub ideal for a soak after walking around the Gower. The cafe / bar was a nice place to eat breakfast and staff were friendly. There's a sunny front terrace and a rear terrace with a view of the castle and good range of restaurants nearby.
Was not a cheap room and we took it because it was a last minute booking and in a good location but were actually very impressed with the quality of the room & cafe.

This was our first visit to Wales and I have to say it was lovely. I am really pleased that we picked Cafe Valance to stay. The staff are really friendly, Nicky and Andy are a wonderful couple really welcoming nothing was too much trouble, the room we stayed in was perfect clean and very comfortable with lots of little touches. The Breakfast was a very good Continental selection. They were really helpful recommending everyday a different walk plus excellent restaurants. The Cafe is right in the middle of Mumbles so you did not need a car to go places. I will definitely be recommending Cafe Valance to our friends.

Staff were very friendly. Able to have continental breakfast at a time to suit us. Full English was not included but could be purchased extra and was excellent. Some rooms not large but executive has a great seaview and all well decorated and beds incredibly comfortable. Coffee bar/bar was tasteful and very popular, nice to have a tea or coffee or drink during the day but also nice to have a nightcap before bed. Great atmosphere and very popular. Lots of boutiquey shops in the same road and only two minutes to the sea, good restaurants within easy walking distance. We would definitely go there again. Mumbles is a lovely place to visit, clean and quirky and easy access to beautiful beaches on the Gower.

Central location for local shops and the sea. Very comfortable bed. Room and bathroom clean and well furnished.
We stayed in the dearest room(Langford) @ £135 per night. It was listed as an executive room. The room was a fair size with a lovely bathroom. Our stay was from Friday through to Tuesday. Our executive room was above the Cafe Valance bar and looked out onto the road. On the other side of the road was another bar and so on Friday and Saturday night it was very noisy outside. There was not an option of closing the windows because the room would have been too hot. In the mornings from 4:30am lorries/vans would stop and deliver to the newsagent/general store two doors down which woke us up every morning. Overall although we were happy with the Cafe Valance Bar and Rooms and it's staff we felt that £135 per night was too high for the disrupted nights we had. To reach the rooms you had to go up outside stairs (difficult with cases) and the walkway was slippery if it had been raining. Parking was in short supply although having said that we always managed to get a spot but I don't think all the rooms were being used.

Very helpful owners came in early on Sunday so we could have an early breakfast. Lots of attention to detail and very cosy feel to rooms and downstairs. Would stay there again.

Comfortable room. Staff very friendly, food good.
In wet weather the walk up to the rooms which involves steps and in particular a wooden walkway could be hazardous(slippery underfoot).

The room was very contemporary and tastefully decorated. It was light and airy and very clean and the bathroom was spacious and well equipped. The place was surprisingly sumptuous compared to the exterior image of the property. I would definitely go there again.
If I was to complain about anything it would just be that the cost was rather high for just bed and breakfast.
